Anyone who has been here for a long time, knows this problem. Finding an e-liquid, that tastes really good and lasts a long time, is often relatively difficult. For all, who have problems with it, it's a good idea, Make your own e-liquid with flavors and bases. This brings with it many advantages. You can use e-liquids, for example e-liquids, which you can adjust later, by adding more flavor, add other flavors or dilute it. You can also add new flavors to your finished e-liquid (so flavors) refine. There are many benefits to mixing your own e-liquid.
equipment
First of all, we recommend the following:
Empty bottles for new creations
Syringe with blunt cannula for precise aroma measurement
Glycerin and propylene glycol mixed or separated
A small funnel for inserting the base into the bottle
taste good
When you need nicotine
Pen and paper
Basis
The base is basically pure e-liquid, free of flavors and nicotine. It consists of two components:
Vegetable glycerin (VG)
In terms of consistency, VG can be compared to syrup or oil. It is mainly responsible for vapor density and is quite thick.
Propylene glycol (PG)
Propylene glycol acts as a flavor carrier and preservative in liquids. Because its consistency is similar to water, it is much thinner than VG.
Depending on the device, you should pay attention to this, that the e-liquid does not become too thin or too thick. Depending on the model, the flow through the cotton can be too weak or too strong. On the whole it can be said:
MTL up to 60 % VG and 40 % PG
For DL up to 50 % PG and 50 % VG
Of course there are exceptions here, but if you stick to these values, There should only be problems with very few devices.
Tip – The mixing ratio can also influence the taste. If the PG content is high, the amount of aroma should be lower than if the VG content is high.
The taste
Flavors are available in different flavors and strengths. So everyone can find something for themselves. However, compared to finished e-liquids, there are very few flavors, that you can try out. So you're basically forced, Buy it based on the description and just try it out. Let's assume, They have the colorful fruit flavors, but apple is too boring for you. You can also add a single apple flavor. I just wanted to show, that you can easily combine different flavors with each other.
Generally, flavors dissolve in PG, which means they last a long time. If you want an accurate mix between PG and VG, Of course, you should also take taste into account. The amount of spices, that they need, varies greatly. Some scents are already at 1-2 % of the overall scents strong enough, while for others 15-20 % required are. This is usually specified by the spice manufacturer.
Tip – The spice dosages recommended by the manufacturer are usually relatively high. Our advice: When you mix e-liquid with flavor for the first time, use only 2/3 the dosage recommended by the manufacturer - as you add more and more flavor, However, you cannot remove the aroma from the liquid.
ripening time
You often hear, that freshly flavored e-liquid should be “ripe”.. You can - but you don't have to. Once you've mixed something new, you can smoke it immediately. Maybe your e-liquid has been left untouched for a while and you'll notice a slight change in the flavor. This may apply to some tastes, but not necessarily on the others. If you really don't like something, Just put it in the closet for a few weeks and maybe you'll like it better.
Also e-liquids, that contain nicotine and flavors, can turn brown over time. This happens exclusively through the oxidation of nicotine - so your liquid can still be used without any problems steam.
Nicotine
To get nicotine in your e-liquid, there are two options. Either you get commercially available nicotine shots or you import highly concentrated nicotine base. Because the shots are limited to a maximum of 20mg/ml, Stronger nicotine base makes mixing a lot easier.
To illustrate this, the following examples are::
To mix with 18 mg / ml Base (Shots) we need 33,3 ml, also three whole and a third of a fourth shot for 6 mg / ml 100 ml E-Liquid.
To mix with 100mg/ml nicotine base we only need 6ml nicotine base for 6mg/ml per 100ml.
You see too, With a more concentrated base, mixing is much easier.
The mixing
First, of course, prepare the necessary utensils. Basis, the flavors and the tools needed. can have an effect.
It is also recommended for later mixing, to meticulously write down all the flavors used and their quantities. It has that.
Now start mixing, you should first calculate the desired amount of aroma. You can often find the recommended dosage on the bottle or on the manufacturer’s website.
Example for 100ml e-liquid:
– dosage of aroma recommended by the manufacturer 15% (in our autumn 2/3 von 15% – also 10%)
– We want a 70VG / 30PG Liquid
10 % von 100 ml = 10 ml – which is a great meaning, that we already have 10 % Have PG due to the flavors in the e-liquid.
So we now measure out 10ml of aroma and put it in the bottle. Do we have e.g.
We have 100%VG and 100%PG separated, Let's measure out 70ml VG and 20ml PG and mix them together.
100ml 70VG is ready / 30 PG E-Liquid.
Do you want to combine several flavors?, Of course, the calculation is a little more complicated.
